Cannock's Glenn Hughes collapses on stage in New Zealand due to dehydration

Cannock star Glenn Hughes reportedly collapsed on stage during his New Zealand show last night.

The former Deep Purple bassist and vocalist fell ill during a show at Christchurch's Horncastle Arena, and said via a video on his Twitter that this was due to dehydration.

In the video posted to his Twitter, Hughes thanks his fans for their loving messages.

He described his show the previous night as a 'hiccup' and goes on to say that: "I was suffering from dehydration due to not drinking enough water. Note to self Mr Hughes, always drink water!"

He ends the video by saying: "Peace and love, see you soon."

Glenn is currently touring Classic Deep Purple live across Australia and New Zealand. This is the first tour in 40 years on which Hughes will perform a full concert comprising of solely Deep Purple material.

Glenn is set to play a show tonight at Wellington's Michael Fowler Centre.
