Dog show a big success
It was a show for Kings that took place over the weekend- or Cavalier King Charles Spaniels at least.
The Northern Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Society Championship Show was a great success on Sunday at the Staffordshire County Show Ground.
It is one of four shows the society has held this year where anyone could enter with their dog to be crowned the best dog and bitch from one of the many awards available. The other events include two open shows along with an A.G.M and Members Supermatch and Fun Show held as early as January every three months.
There were many awards for the Kennel Club Challenge Certificate Dog Classes and the Bitch Classes, with three celebrating special award classes which include best Puppy, Graduate and Open Dog or Bitch. Michelle Chapman's and her pet Lincoln came out as one of the many winners for the day as she won Best Junior Dog.
The event was sponsored by Royal Canin and judged by Ms M Hogan, Karen Cumberledge and Elaine Waddlington who replaced Mrs J. Sheard because she could not be there due to being ill.
Founded in 1969, the Northern Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Society promote the general interests of the breed and hold regular shows throughout the year. The breed is classed as a toy dog and they originated in the United Kingdom.
There next event will be an open show on November 12 in Thorpe Willoughby and the deadline to enter the competition by post in October 14 whilst the online entries close at midnight on October 28.
