Ready Player One: Trailer released for Spielberg film shot in Birmingham
A trailer has been released for Ready Player One - an epic fantasy directed by Steven Spielberg and with scenes shot in Birmingham.
Roads and buildings in the Custard Factory and Jewellery Quarter were turned into a temporary movie set last summer, now the first official trailer has been released for the highly-anticipated film to coincide with San Diego Comic Con.
Ready Player One is based on the celebrated novel by Ernest Cline. The story, set in a dystopian 2044, follows Wade Watts as he searches for an Easter egg in a virtual reality game, that could lead him to inherit a valuable fortune in a world stricken by an energy crisis.
Starring Hannah John-Kamen, Mark Rylance, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller and Simon Pegg, Ready Player One is set to be released on March 30, 2018.
