Join theatre group fun day
A youth theatre group is throwing open its doors to the public in a bid to attract aspiring actors, dancers and singers.
Sea-Change Theatre Company, based at Coneygre Arts Centre, Tipton, runs classes for youngsters and each year puts on two productions.
And in September it is launching a new dance academy with classes ranging from those for parents and toddlers to those for older teenagers.
It is holding its 'fun day' on Saturday at its Sedgley Road East home between 10am and 11.30am.
Ann Cartwright, who co-founded the non-profit-making voluntary theatre company, said: "We are opening our doors to anyone who wants to come and see what we do, hear nice music, have a cup of tea or have a chat with us.
"They can also take part in some activities our members have put on for them.
"We know that we can change shy young people into strong confident performers.
"There are many, many people who would like to maybe act or sing or dance, they just don't have the courage to step forward.
"But we are a safe and friendly place and the people here are very supportive."
The theatre company was set up by Ann and Kierron Emery in 2013 and for the last two years has been based at Coneygre Arts Centre. It currently has around 40 members.
