Come Dine with Me contestant to launch catering business
A budding culinary cuisine star is to launch her own Caribbean food business after appearing on TV's Come Dine with Me.
Shermayne Thomas, 29 of Pendeford, appeared on the popular Channel 4 programme last January where she prepared a Caribbean menu of Saturday soup, mutton chops and homemade coleslaw, rice and peas topped off with the not-so-exotic chocolate brownie.
Sharmayne has always had a love of cookery and now is setting up her catering business, called The Kitchshem #heartofthehome from her own home.
The menu for the business will include freshly prepared Caribbean food and drink, as well as cakes baked by Sharmayne's mother, Sarah Day.
Shermayne said: "I'm really looking forward to launching my business. It's a real family affair with my mum and sister helping.
"I've been through some tough times and wouldn't be where I am now without their support."
