It’s a bumper weekend of events in the region, and with temperatures set to soar organisers are expecting bumper crowds and a boost to the local economy.

Yesterday people from across the region attended the model air show at Weston Park, where aircraft flew in clear blue skies. The event continues across the weekend.

According to the Met Office it will be a misty start, but this will burn off as the temperature rises and it was today set to peak at 27C (81F). It will be a hot and clammy night with a low of 13C.

Temperatures are due to peak at between 26-28C on Sunday with wall to wall sunshine.

Oli Claydon, spokesman for the Met Office, said: “It is going to be a cracker. But be warned that pollen levels will be very high.”
