More than 30 youngsters from a range of performing arts courses will be taking part in musical Avenue Q at the college’s Paget Road Campus this month.

The students have spent the last few months learning the art of puppetry, picking up tips from the TV puppeteer in preparation for their performances.

Richard, who has worked on everything from The Muppets to the recent Star Wars film, spent two days with the students, teaching them how to make puppets come alive.

Lecturer Tanya Long said: “This has been a great learning experience for the students. The show is something a bit different for us and it’s been great to see the students develop over the weeks from beginners to very professional puppet masters!”

The show takes place on June 28, 29 and 30 at 2pm and 7pm. Tickets cost £6 each and are available on the door.

The college is now holding auditions for performing arts courses starting in September. For more information ring 01902 836000 or visit www.wolvcoll.ac.uk.
