CBeebies Cat Sandion to star in Lichfield Garrick's Aladdin
CBeebies Cat Sandion is the latest star name confirmed to perform at the Lichfield Garrick in their festive offering of Aladdin.
Cat, one of the leading presenters from the CBeebies channel and the narrator of the CBeebies TV Christmas Panto will play the role of Princess Jasmine. Cat will be joined by Birmingham based actress, Loula Geater, who will take on the role of the Slave of the Ring. Loula has previously performed in pantomime and musical theatre across the country.
Karen Foster, the Lichfield Garrick’s Executive Director said: “This year’s panto promises a star studded cast, gags a plenty and an all-round family entertainment.
"I’m delighted that our very own Tim Ford, will be directing, bringing all the magic and laughter our audience expects from a Lichfield Garrick panto. Join us at the West Midland’s Most Welcoming Theatre for your Christmas treat.”
The Lichfield Garrick’s Artistic Director, Tim Ford, and director of Aladdin commented: “We are delighted to welcome Cat Sandion to Lichfield to join us as the beautiful Princess Jasmine.
"I’m also very pleased to announce that local actress Loula Geater will be joining us, reinforcing our continued commitment to cast local artists. Loula is the most incredible vocalist and I know that the people of Lichfield are in for a real delight.”
The Lichfield Garrick has already confirmed Sam Rabone and Ben Thornton who will play Widow Twankey and Wishee Washee respectively.
The duo were two of the standout stars from last year’s recording breaking pantomime, Sleeping Beauty.
Sam Rabone further added: "I can't wait to be back onstage in Lichfield with my comedy co-star Ben, who this year is my son.
"From speaking with CBeebies Rebecca Keatley, Cat is amazing and I can't wait to meet her.
"Loula is someone I have wanted to work with since we first met and finally this year we can make the dream come true. Roll on Panto!"
