Birmingham Pride to return this bank holiday weekend - in pictures and video

Birmingham will celebrate the LGBTQ+ community with their annual Pride Weekender from May 27 to May 28.

Taking place in Birmingham's Gay Village - the event will feature an array of musical acts across seven stages as well as drag and comedy performers.

Dua Lipa, Basement Jaxx and Jonas Blue will play the main stage on Saturday, May 27 and We Love Pop, Gabriella, Sigala, Sophie-Ellis Bextor, Jamelia, Boney M, Rosie O'Sullivan and Charlotte Church's Late Night Pop Dungeon will play the Main Stage on Sunday, May 28.

The Dance Arena will play host to the likes of Tough Love and Official Nancie on Saturday and Kissey Sell Out on Sunday.

A variety of comedy and drag performers will play the Manchester Airport Cabaret Marquee across the weekend such as Topping and Bitch, D.E. Experience, Twiggy, Miss Penny and more.

The Women's Arena celebrates a variety of talented female performers such as DJ Little L, DJ Delle, Run 4, DJ Sally G, Lauren Hoyle and Elle Robertson.

Various gay bars and clubs across Birmingham are supporting the event and hosting entertainment throughout the event. Amusement 13 Nightclub, Club Chic, Eden, Glamorous, Missing Bar, Nightingale Club, Rhapsody Bar, Sidewalk, The Fox, The Loft, The Village Inn and The Core Club are among the venues that you can settle in for a meal, a drink with friends or to party through the night.

Marking fifty years since the decriminalisation of homosexuality - the theme of this year's event in Love and Pride. The Carnival Parade takes place on Saturday, May 27 with people assembling in Victoria Square from 11.00am. The parade travels from Victoria Square along New Street, High Street, Carrs Lane, St Martin's Circus Queensway, Smallbrook Queensway and into Hurst Street.

There will also be a funfair, street food and various market stalls.

You will need to purchase a ticket to enter the Birmingham Pride festival site. Children under five don’t need a wristband but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

After 8pm on both Saturday and Sunday, only visitors who’re over 18 will be permitted entry. We operate a Challenge 25 policy - so if you’re lucky enough to look under 25, please ensure that you bring appropriate ID.

Tickets for each day and combined weekend tickets are still available as well as VIP packages. The special VIP Weekend passes entitle the holder to: Meet-and-greet opportunities with selected artists, fast-track entry into the site, VIP bar at The Penthouse, VIP main stage viewing area, VIP cabaret stage viewing area.
