Jack the Ripper cabaret heading to Stafford
Don't Go Into The Cellar productions are bringing their macabre cabaret Jekyll the Ripper to Stafford Gatehoise.
The year is 1888, and London is in terror at the murder spree being committed by Saucy Jack! Why not seek respite from the horrors of Whitechapel by spending the evening inside Tabram's Music Hall?
The show features a macabre cabaret of Victorian songs, weird skits and disturbing vignettes, wherein you will meet Messrs Richard Mansfield, Walter Sickert, Joseph Merrick, and, perhaps, the Ripper himself.
Formed in 2010, ‘Don’t Go into the Cellar!’ comprises some of the British Empire’s self-proclaimed finest practitioners of theatrical Victoriana in a macabre vein.
The group are behind other productions such as Frankenstein 1899, Murder by Gaslight, Morbid Curiosities: Queens of Victorian Horror, The Singular Exploits of Sherlock Holmes, Tea with Oscar Wilde and more.
Jekyll the Ripper will be performed in the MET Studio at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre on Friday 1st June at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £11, with a £9 concession price, and are available from the Box Office on 01785 619080 or online via www.staffordgatehousetheatre.co.uk
