Opening the show were Birmingham’s Wood and Nails, London hardcore band Rough Hands and Leeds two piece Kamikaze Girls. A varied support bill made the evening all the more interesting and appealed to a wide variety of tastes.

Currently touring in support of their recently released second record ‘Outsiders’ released on Big Scary Monsters, last night acted as the first night of an extensive UK tour.

Opening with Straightjacket, the band blasted through a 45 minute set of fast paced and high energy punk songs with the audience giving the energy back by the tenfold. Only stopping for a moment due to lead guitarist Tom Weeks amp giving up, the joy from both the band and the crowd was visible throughout. Tracks such as ‘History Is Bunk’ and ‘We Want The Whip’ saw the audience jumping off anything they could clamber onto whilst new tracks ‘Wires’ and ‘Car Crash Cinema’ sounded great and will surely receive the same reaction once given the time to bed in. A truly joyous and communal experience, it’s no wonder that the band have garnered such a reputation in the live arena.

Sounding as tight as ever, the three piece made up of guitarist and vocalist Tom Weeks, bassist and vocalist Charlie Piper and drummer Max Weeks prove that three is in fact the magic number.
