Staffordshire Day: Thousands join in with celebrations
Thousands joined in with celebrations for the second Staffordshire Day.
The event, which began last year to honour the county's 1,000th anniversary, took place yesterday.
Dozens of events took place over the weekend, organised by Enjoy Staffordshire and Staffordshire County Council.
These included Perton Carnival, where youngsters enjoyed fairground rides, a parade, market stalls and more.
Food-loving cyclists took part in the Tour De Louis – a 42.6-mile gastro bike ride to the Red Lion at Bradley, The Moat House in Acton Trussell, near Stafford, and The Dog and Doublet in Sandon.
In Cannock, drivers revved up to the Hednesford Hills Raceway for a series of races throughout the day, including the annual Caravan Grand Prix, which saw 20 caravans smashed to splinters.
The Curly Magpie Spring Fair brought vintage and handmade collectables to the National Memorial Arboretum in Alrewas, near Lichfield, on Sunday and yesterday.
And Stafford's Katharine House Hospice saw hundreds take part in its charity cycle challenge on Saturday morning.
And throughout the day, the hash-tag #StaffordshireDay was trending on Twitter.
Some Staffordshire Day events will be continuing throughout this week.
