Steve Gibbons to headline Bilston's Robin 2

He's been on the road for longer than he cares to remember.

Steve Gibbons has lost count of the number of times he's played in the rock-loving Midlands.

He'll return on Thursday for a headline gig at Bilston's Robin 2, when he'll play classic Steve Gibbons Band material from the past four decades.

Steve's released 14 albums, shifting more than a million copies, and his tune One Of The Boys was covered by The Who's Roger Daltrey.

He formed his own band in the early 1970s, after returning to Birmingham from London. His new band worked the pub and club circuits until 1975 when they were spotted by Pete Townshend of The Who. That led to The Steve Gibbons Band joining The Who's management stable, recording their first Polydor album Any Road Up and touring with The Who. Playing the concert arenas, they shared the stage with acts like Little Feat, Lynard Skynard, E.L.O., J. Geils and Nils Lofgren.
