Liam Sergeant, from Compton, plays a lead role in All Shook Up, a musical based on the hits of Elvis Presley.

Wolverhampton Musical Comedy Company (MUSCOM) is putting on the production, which runs from tonight until Saturday.

All Shook Up tells the story of guitarist Chad and small town girl Natalie who dreams of love and adventure.

Liam, who went to Adams’ Grammar School and is now studying English Language and Literature at Oxford University, plays Chad – and has had to juggle rehearsals with his studies.

The show is set in small town America in 1955, as a musical revolution is about to happen. Inspired by and featuring the songs of Elvis Presley, the production will have all the classic hits, from Blue Suede Shoes and All Shook Up to Heartbreak Hotel and Jailhouse Rock.

Katie Astbury from the city will play Natalie – following her acclaimed performance as Elle Woods in MUSCOM’s 2015 production of Legally Blonde. The show will also feature a number of local actors.

The book for All Shook Up by Joe DiPietro is based on William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

Tickets at £9 can be bought at grandtheatre.co.uk by calling 01902 429212 or at the box office.
