Capital B: Zoe, left, and Ebony

Ebony, 20, from Smethwick, performed alongside 21-year-old Zoe Hedge, from Bishop's Castle in Shropshire, in Capital B. They had previously wowed the judges, especially their coach Sir Tom Jones, and made it through the previous two rounds.

However the duo left the competition on Sunday night after Sir Tom opted to keep singer Nadine following the first live show of this year's competition.

Capital B had previously got through the blind auditions and the battle round, where they knocked out Birmingham singer Ryhann Thomas.

Ebony and Zoe met as students at Birmingham School of Acting, affiliated with Birmingham City University, and are now in their third year. They both currently live in Birmingham.

The group tweeted after their elimination: "It has been a PLEASURE being on @thevoiceuk and we are over the moon for the phenomenal acts going through! #ALLlove"
