Exhibits include the first toast rack to the celebrated Alveston teapot, popularly known as the Aladdin's Lamp.

Old Hall was the world's first manufacturer of stainless steel tableware.

The firm dates back to 1893, operating from the Salvation Army's old hall in Revival Street, Bloxwich – the venue where its name came from – originally making horse equipment.

But after the First World War the market fell away and the firm looked to diversify. In 1928, William Wiggin created a stainless steel toast rack, followed in 1930 by the world's first stainless steel teapot.

The company became a major employer with a workforce of more than 500 people.

Nigel Wiggin, great-grandson of the company's founder, and chairman of the Old Hall Collectors Club, has been at the museum this month to help visitors with enquiries.
