Stourbridge chip shop nominated for award
A chip shop in Stourbridge is celebrating after being nominated for an independent takeaway award.
Oldswinford Fish and Chip shop is up against nine other shops across the country for the Independent Takeaway Fish and Chip Shop of the Year Award.
The award means the family business on Hagley Road could be crowned the best fish and chip takeaway in the UK. Zach Ioannou, co-owner, said: "It's a massive honour to be nominated as one of the best chip shops in the entire country. This award is the biggest award any chip shop can win in our industry – it's the Oscars of fish and chips."
The takeaway has been awarded an array of awards including the best in the Midlands, TripAdvisor Excellence award and the Dudley Gold chip shop award.
The winner will be revealed on Thursday.
