Black Country Living Museum in bid for £10m to enhance attraction
Black Country Living Museum bosses have submitted the first bid for funding which would allow a major expansion to go ahead at the iconic attraction.
The application for almost £10 million has been sent to the Heritage Lottery. It would fund the first part of the museum's masterplan.
The ambitious proposals include a new visitor centre and car park, as well as the extension of the museum's tram line.
Chief executive Andrew Lovett said: "We are delighted to now be in a position to submit this funding bid which has been three years in the making.
"If successful, this development will be a significant one and will allow us to complete the museum's story."
The museum will find out if it has been successful in the spring and, if so, will then work towards a second funding bid in October 2018.
