Ironman finish line moving from Shugborough
The finishing line for Staffordshire's Ironman event will move from the Shugborough Estate after the event next year.
The 2017 event will see competitors complete a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike ride and 13.1 mile half marathon, starting at Chasewater, passing through Cannock Chase before culminating at the historic estate.
It is now back with the National Trust which aims to focus on conservation.
Councillor Mark Winnington said: "Staffordshire as a county provides a spectacular backdrop for the event and nowhere more so than the Shugborough Estate. While Ironman will be continuing in the county, this will be the last chance for people to sign up to cross the finishing line at Shugborough on June 18.
"The event is great for highlighting our fantastic county and I am sure people will show their support once again next year."
