King King delays Bilston gig due to singer's vocal chord condition
Fans of blues rockers King King will have mixed feelings about their latest announcement – the majority of their tour has been suspended.
They will feel sadness at the news that due to a recent vocal cord condition with lead singer and guitarist Alan Nimmo, the majority of King King's November tour dates have been re-scheduled to 2017.
But, for local fans at least, the good news is this means a date at Bilston's Robin 2 will go ahead, even if it is at a later date.
Also of local attention, special guests Broken Witt Rebels – the Birmingham born and bred rockers – will still be supporting.
King King will honour four of the original November dates at Edinburgh Queen's Hall, Chester's The Live Rooms, Clitheroe's The Grand Venue and London's Islington Assembly Hall. These remain scheduled.
The rest have been pushed back to next year, with the Robin 2 date taking place on March 4.
Nimmo said: "I've seen my ENT specialist. He put a camera down my throat to look at what condition my vocal cords were in. Unfortunately, there's still a good bit of inflammation and redness.
"I've been working with a vocal coach to build strength and stamina to aid my recovery.
"We will be re-scheduling most of the dates on the UK tour to January, February and March, however, we will commit to the remaining four shows on the November UK tour."
Nimmo is, of course, the brother of fellow blues rock officianado Stevie Nimmo, with the pair having performed and recorded together for nearly two decades. Stevie can often now be found touring with his own Stevie Nimmo Trio.
