Hundreds visit Bridgnorth ghost walk with pictures and video
Hundreds of people flocked to Bridgnorth for the annual sell-out Ghost Walk.
The walk, organised by the Theatre on the Steps, is believed to be the only ghost walk in the country with "live ghosts" – actors who tell the tale of the ghosts outside where they met their demise.
About 400 people strolled the streets of Bridgnorth over two nights to meet ghosts such as William and Charlotte.
Iain Reddihough, artistic director at the Theatre on the Steps, said that all the stories told are based on true events in the town over the past 500 years.
Mr Reddihough said: "Some of the walkers come dressed in Halloween costumes each year.
"We've been running the ghost walk for about 18 or 19 years and it sells out weeks before the event.
"It's one of the bigger Halloween events in Bridgnorth.
"Quite a lot of people come here. We've had people from as far as Newcastle and the West Country."
Rumour has it this bride never made it to the altar, instead dying in tragic circumstances as she was dressing for her wedding.
Her ghost is said to haunt certain areas of one Shropshire market town – and for 400 intrepid souls the story came alive before their eyes.
The woman in white was one of a whole cast of ghastlies that roamed Bridgnorth for a night-time Halloween walk.
Actors from the town's Theatre on the Steps retold a number of haunting stories which have become folklore over the past 500 years.
The Ghost Walk has been running for almost 20 years. Organiser Iain Reddihough said: "Some of the walkers come dressed in Halloween costumes each year. It's great fun."
Tickets for next year's ghost walk will be on sale in the next few weeks.
