The Rushall Pleasure Painters group, consisting of around 30 artists from across Walsall, who are aged 35 to 92, will host an exhibition at Rushall Parish Church Hall on October 22.

It is the group's first proper exhibition and they are looking forward to sharing their work with others.

The autumn exhibition will feature work from all members of the group, ranging from rural and urban landscapes to wildlife paintings, portraits and more.

Member Margo Wright, 74, from Delves Green, said: "Everyone in the group is of such a high standard it is only right that their work is shared with the public.

"They haven't really put a proper exhibition together before and everyone is hoping this will be a great success.

"There will be a huge range of work on display, with plenty of originals which can be purchased too."

The group meets at the parish church hall every Tuesday and Friday and have done for the past 12 years.

As a new member, Margo says she is still in awe at the quality of work her colleagues produce, as well as their positive attitude to helping each other.

She said: "Everyone is a real artist here, they aren't just people who do this as a hobby, they produce stunning work.

"As a new member I am constantly impressed with what is produced.

"Everyone helps each other out and comments on work so that is a real positive and helps to create a great atmosphere.

"We are all very friendly and often take day trips out to sites with our materials in order to get inspiration."

Entrance to the exhibition, which takes place from 10.30am to 2pm, is free, with tea, coffee and cakes provided for a small charge.
