The psychic, who describes himself as a 'a very ordinary man with a special gift', demonstrated his abilities at the Bilston venue.

The 57-year-old, who was the first medium to appear at the Robin 2, said: "Well, of course it was wonderful to see the venue full, and a warm, lovely responsive audience, and I suppose the numerous calls from the floor of, 'Don't retire, Phil' and 'We love you, Philip,' made it a bit emotional.

"It was great to do it at the Robin 2 where the Rolling Stones and other great rockers have played.

"I don't have the best of health these days and the large venues and travel have just got a bit too much for me.

"I would like to thank my fans for the fantastic support they have given me over the years. It has been a wonderful journey together."

During the evening the clairvoyant went round the room passing on messages 'from the other side'.

He said: "Once I get on stage I look around and see lights which guide me where to go.

"I aim to reunite as many members of the public with lost ones as I can.

"Those who don't believe in clairvoyance are those who have never lost anyone."

Mr Solomon has worked all over the world for the past twenty years including with Elvis Presley's family. He has released various books and used to host his own radio show on community radio.

So what next for the medium? "I was ordained as a Reverend Minister by the New Spiritualists Society, so I will be giving some commitment to church services and perhaps doing a little local work occasionally."

Mr Solomon used to be a columnist for the Express & Star, and has also featured in Psychic World, Haunted magazine and Take A Break's Fate and Fortune supplement.

He has also written books on the paranormal world and has worked with several well-known mediums such as Derek Acorah and renowned parapsychologists such as Dr Hans Holzer.
