It played host to Garage Gathering on Saturday, which was originally intended to be held at the Civic, but was moved to the Wulfrun Hall on the promoters request.

The garage music night included MC Romeo, Oxide & Neutrino, Lisa Maffia and DJ Pied Piper.

A spokesperson for the Civic Hall said: "We can't speak for all promoters, but the schedule looks to resume as planned now, with events right up until the end of December, with both venues closed from January until October next year."

The Wulfrun and Civic Halls have both been closed since December 2015, undergoing a multi-million pound revamp.

The Civic was originally intended to open during November and December, hosting a few landmark gigs including The Specials and the annual Grand Slam of Darts.

It was revealed last week that it was due to open earlier than expected.

The Civic is now expected to host Blast Off 20th Birthday Party on Saturday as it's first public event since the ongoing refurbishment started.

The Wulfrun Hall will host the Fall Festival in a chance to discover some of the UK's best up and coming bands and artist, also on Saturday. The Civic Hall is not expected to be fully refurbished until May 2018.

Once completed, the £14.4 million refurbished Civic Halls will be able to cater for almost 5,000 people in total and it will offer improved hospitality areas as well for users.

The Civic Hall capacity will raise by 539 seats to a total of 2,554, with the standing capacity increasing to 3,549.

Meanwhile, the Wulfrun Hall will also get a balcony, increasing its seating capacity by 230 to 862.

The standing capacity at the Wulfrun Hall will increase to 1,340 when the work is completed.

The work will be part funded by a £6.6m Black Country Local Enterprise Partnership Growth Deal grant.
