The two-day festival was foodie heaven and organisers were delighted with the response.

More than 8,000 people filed through the hangar doors of RAF Cosford keen to see just what was on the menu.

From cheese producers to beer and cider makers, pickle stands to sizzling hot sausages there was something for everyone.

And if that wasn't enough there were live bands, walls to climb, circus tents for the children, mobile champagne bars and waffle stalls.

Michelle Morgans, who was one of the organising committee said: "We were delighted with how the festival went.

"Last year we had 7,000 people visit the event and this year, with online ticket sales and the amount of interest we had on the phone, we expect to top 8,000.

"We had more than 90 stall holders ranging from artisan cakes, pasties and bread to brewers and honey suppliers. This is the fourth year we have held the food festival and it has grown year on year."

Great British Bake Off contestant Becca Lyne-Pirkis gave live demonstrations on the cookery stage and a Battle of Britain Spitfire performed a fly-past at 3pm.

On the music stage Cosford Military Wives and Shawbury Military Wives performed a number of hit songs and ensured there was a fun atmosphere for everyone.
