Two top Black Country tourist spots win TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

Two top tourist attractions across the Black Country are celebrating after being praised by a top internet travel review site.

Dudley Canal Tunnel and Limestone Mines have both been awarded the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2016. The award celebrates hospitality excellence and are only given to establishments consistently achieving outstanding traveller reviews on site.

Nick Morris, CEO of Dudley Canal Trust Trips Ltd, said: "Receiving this award is a fantastic achievement for all of our staff and volunteers.

"We've had a fantastic year so far in terms of visitor figures since the opening of our new visitor centre, The Portal, and this tells us that people are greatly enjoying their visits. We're proud to be one of Dudley's favourite visitor attractions."

Businesses must maintain an overall rating of four or higher, out of a possible five, as reviewed by travellers on TripAdvisor, to qualify for the Certificate of Excellence.

Additional criteria includes the volume of reviews received within the last 12 months.

The certificate was founded in 2010 with the aim of helping to deliver consistently quality services. Establishments earning the Certificate of Excellence can be found all over the world.
