Video and gallery: Shugborough Hall exhibits world food at Great British Food Festival in Stafford

Tastes from across the world were on show at the Great British Food Festival in Stafford.

Around 120 traders exhibited a tempting variety of foods at Shugborough Hall during the two day event held at the weekend, July 9 and 10.

An estimated 4,000 people flocked to the stately home in Great Heywood, Staffordshire, to treat there taste-buds and experience a colourful plate of different drinks and cuisines.

"It was a fabulous day, there was a really great atmosphere," said Verity Sharples, Events Manger at the Great British Food Festival.

The festival, which tours across Britain each year, brings along top local and artisan producers, as well as those from outside the region.

Great British Bake Off finalists Luis Troyano and Miranda Gore Browne made a special appearance with food demonstrations for the crowds.

"The food on show ranged from cheese, chillies, cakes and pies. But traders also exhibited food such as Vietnamese cuisine, freak shakes and gourmet pork," said Verity.

She added: "We had awful weather to begin with on Saturday, but everyone had brought their wellies and then the sun appeared to make for a fantastic day."

There was also a chance for people to try out a range of alcohol with real ale and wine bars.

Children's cookery lessons and activities were also on offer for to entertain younger audiences.

Visitors could also try their luck in a stir in a cake competition and for hose feeling plucky, a Men V's Food challenge was also available.

The next location the festival visits is Kelmarsh Hall, Northamptonshire, from July 23 to 24, followed by Bowood House, Wiltshire, on August 20 to 21, then Arley Hall in Cheshire on September 24 to 25.
