Stourbridge Carnival hailed as 'fantastic'
The latest edition of Stourbridge Carnival has been hailed as a 'fantastic' community occasion.
Wollaston and Stourbridge representative Nick Barlow said the event, which took place on Saturday, had shown the town at its best.
Hundreds of people packed into the town centre for a market, street entertainment and stalls.
Among the acts to wow crowds were Black Country comedy troupe The Fizzogs.

Councillor Barlow said: "It was fantastic, the weather was on our side and there was a great turnout.
"There were lots of good stall and activities - it was thoroughly enjoyable.
"The carnival has been going for such a long time but has changed over the years.
"it's a celebration of the town and the locality and local environment.
"I think it's great that people take an interest in it all still have that pride in the town.
"I'm always extremely pleased to promote Stourbridge and the community."
Councillor Barlow said the carnival's place in the Black Country Festival has helped keep it 'fresh' with its expansion in the past couple of years.
He told the Express & Star: "It has expanded in the past couple of years as part of the Black Country Festival and that has kept it fresh and alive.
"Without that support as part of the festival it might have lost its impetus and it's important to get people coming into the town.
"I'd also like to thank the volunteers who have worked so hard to get the event on.
"I walked all around the town and it was brilliant to see all the shops open and people going into them."
