WATCH: 80s star Tiffany stuns revellers at Cannock nightclub
American singer Tiffany surprised drinkers at a Cannock bar when she leapt on stage for an impromptu warm-up gig ahead of the Let's Rock Birmingham event.
Tiffany is married to businessman Ben George who hails from Cannock. So it was a return to her old stomping ground when she hit the town on Friday night and found herself enjoying a drink at Bar Sport, off High Green.
But drinkers were amazed when, at their regular 80s and 90s night, one of the famous faces of the time gave a real live version of her hit I Think We're Alone Now.
DJ Stuart Cox had just finished playing the 43-year-old's big 1987 hit number one song when the crowds were treated to the real thing.
He said: "This is the first time anything like this has happened to me.
"I DJ there at the weekend and I played her song and then found out that she was actually there having drinks.
"We invited her up on stage and we played it again. She danced and sang with the people in Bar Sport.
"She grabbed the microphone and sang towards the end. We were just stunned, they couldn't believe that it was actually her.
"When she was introduced everyone was screaming and shouting.
"We play 80s and 90s music on a Friday but to have an 80s super star turn up is just amazing."
Mr Cox, 40, said he believed Tiffany has visited the bar, run by Scott Murray who she posed for a picture with, before but this was the first time she had performed.
He said: "She was dressed normally, she looked great and there was nothing diva-ish about her.
"She really got into the spirit of things. She posed for photographs."
During the Let's Rock show at Sandwell Valley on Saturday, Californian-born Tiffany told the crowd that her husband was from Cannock and she was happy to be back in the area.
Tiffany - full name Tiffany Darwish – lived in New Penkridge Road, Cannock, after marrying in 2004. She met the businessman in a US bar.
The couple are back living in LA and divide their time between the two countries.
