Kingsman 2: 'Gunfire erupts' in Birmingham as sequel The Golden Circle films in city
Gunfire erupts on the streets of Birmingham - but it was all for show, as the sequel to a Hollywood hit Kinsgman: The Secret Service started filming in the West Midlands.
These dramatic images of a car chase are from filming of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which was filming scenes in the city centre and which stars Channing Tatum.
The footage filmed by fan Paul Slim appears to show gunmen firing through the roofs of cars as they speed through the city centre in pursuit of a taxi.
Roads in the Colmore Business District were shut down overnight for the filming, which is due to finish on Wednesday.
The Golden Circle is a follow-up to last year's smash hit Kingsman: The Secret Service which parodied spy films such as James Bond.
It is not known if any A-list stars will be spotted in the city, but the cast is packed full of some of Hollywood's biggest names. Colin Firth is due to reprise his role from the first film, while Oscar-winning actresses Halle Berry and Julianne Moore – as well as Channing Tatum – are also pencilled in.
Superfan Paul Slim, 39, from Stourbridge, who filmed the footage said: "I'm a big fan of the first movie and as soon as I saw it was being shot in Birmingham I thought this is an opportunity I can't miss.
"This type of movie being shot locally is not something that happens everyday!
"I wanted to try and get the scene from every angle available so once they has some downtime, I moved to another position.
"I got there around 10pm and left around 3am, in that whole time they only ran through it fully probably about 5 or 6 times! And only 2 or 3 with the gunfire (film sets are no good if your impatient!)
"I got back home around 4 and started to put the footage together."
A letter sent to city centre businesses set out the filming schedule.
This states: "We wish to confirm details of the second unit filming taking place in Birmingham for a film provisionally titled 'The Golden Circle'.
"The film will form part of a car chase and will involve intermittent gunfire. We will be operating intermittent pedestrian control whilst we are filming as a health and safety precaution.
"This may involve short waits of up to two to three minutes after which, polite pedestrian marshals will escort you to your destination.
"In order to facilitate our shoot there will be equipment set up in the locations above prior to filming.
"We are really excited to bring this sequence to Birmingham and thank everybody for the help we have received so far."
