Old Stafford Hogshead pub is back up for rent
A Grade II listed building and former pub in Stafford is back up for rent.
The former Hogshead pub, which was also Chambers and before that the County Technical School, is available to rent for £70,000 per year.
Located in the town centre, the former pub/restaurant occupies two floors of the iconic building.
The building is opposite Stafford County Court and next to Stafford College.
Estate agent Louis Taylor, which has the building listed on popular website Rightmove, said the building is 'substantial' and 'offers enormous potential'.
The estate agent details state: "This is a substantial Grade II listed landmark building formerly the County Technical School built in 1897 by Bailey and McConnal. It was also occupied by the Hogshead/Chambers as a Public House and Restaurant.
"It is of red brick wall construction with stone dressing and slate roofs with ridge stacks. It is building in a renaissance style and occupies the ground floor and basement of a three storey building.
"This beautiful building is well located on Victoria Square and has previously undergone refurbishment. It is a substantial premises and offers enormous potential and viewing is strongly recommended."
The building still holds its planning consent for use as a bar/restaurant, with Louis Taylor adding that it would be 'suitable for a variety of other uses' providing it received relevant planning permission.
It has recently been refurbished and upgraded and features an enlarged kitchen.
Being listed as Grade II means the building is classified as 'particularly important' and 'of more than special interest'.
Other examples of Grade II listed buildings include Battersea Power Station in London, St John's Jerusalem in Kent and Rise Hall in Yorkshire.
This means that the new leaseholders will not require planning permission to change the interior decoration but will need permission to do any alterations to the interior or exterior of the building.
