Shoppers could have been left thinking 'villains' were inside the building of Tesco's Stourbridge after seeing this combined design of Batman and Superman symbols.

Hundreds of Coca Cola cans were used in the making process, which was 20 cans high.

The stand was part of the store's celebrations ahead of the release of the new Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice film.

It was crafted by the store's Coca-Cola representative during their night shift on Wednesday.

Their creative juices were flowing when they set about making this design, using a mixture of red, black and grey colours of the packaging to draw up the shapes of the symbols.

The red represents Superman and black for Batman.

It is reminiscent of how pictures were made on old computers using square pixels, where each soda pack has a rectangular shape.

It seems some planning had gone into the stand, where the designer had to take into consideration the shape of the cans and space used to create an accurate design.

The new film it is celebrating is Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, which was released in cinemas in the United Kingdom on March 25.

It is an American superhero film featuring comics characters Batman and Superman.

The film is a follow-up to 2013's Man of Steel and is the second instalment in the DC Extended Universe.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is the first live-action film that features Batman and Superman together in one film, as well as the first theatrical film to feature live-action portrayals of Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and the Flash.

The plot of the film sees criminal mastermind Lex Luthor, who is obsessed with defeating Superman, manipulates Batman into pre-emptively battling him.
