Visitors are being given the chance to name the rare Middle White breed pigs, who are both female and 11-weeks-old.

They have already been out playing in their fields and greeting many visitors to the museum.

One of them has a slightly smaller snout than the other and staff say she likes to be the centre of attention.

Visitors are being asked to get their thinking caps on and suggest names for the new arrivals for the chance to win an UnChained Annual Family Pass for two adults and up to three children.

Two girls names need to be suggested via the museum's Facebook page before midnight on Wednesday (30). The winning names will be announced the following day (31).

Helen Taylor, the museum's curator of domestic and cultural life, said: "Pig rearing was an important part of historic Black Country life – they were easy to keep and could basically live on a family's scraps.

"Our two 11 week old female piglets are Middle Whites - an endangered breed that is native to the UK.

"They are known for their docile nature and upturned noses.

"We hope the public will help us to name the piglets as we welcome them into the museum."
