Gatecrasher Birmingham to get £1.4m re-launch as PRYZM nightclub

Birmingham superclub Gatecrasher will be taken-over and re-launched as part of a £1.4 million plan creating jobs.

The venue was hit by trouble after an alleged stabbing and claims of a violent brawl involving security staff.

Gatecrasher closed after its licence was suspended and later revoked in November by Birmingham City Council following the allegations.

Nightclub group Deltic confirmed plans to invest cash in launching a new PRYZM club at the site.

The site in Broad Street will be refurbished to develop the venue creating around 50 jobs.

It will be the first Birmingham venue for Deltic Group, which manages 58 bars and clubs across the country employing more than 3,000 people,

Group chief executive, Peter Marks, said: "We have been keen to have a presence in Birmingham for some time now and are delighted to have acquired this landmark site.

"We are extremely excited to bring PRYZM to the city, which will offer a fantastic clubbing experience with outstanding levels of customer service and headline acts from around the world."

PRYZM Birmingham is due to open in the summer. It will combine multiple rooms with VIP booths, table service and bespoke bar experiences.
