Beverley Knight back with new album
Wolverhampton soul sensation Beverley Knight is gearing up for the release of her latest album which hits the shelves in April.
The homegrown star took to Twitter from Tulum, Mexico, where she revealed she was resuming work on the album.
She is also preparing to take to the stage for her first tour in four years, with a show at Birmingham's Symphony Hall on June 2.
The singer, who is from Penn Fields, has recently signed to East West/Warner Music, and the latest offering will be her eighth studio album.
It comes more than 20 years after the release of her debut album, The B-Funk.
The new tour will feature new material, hits from down the years, as well as songs she has performed in her critically acclaimed West End.
It comes after she finished her stint on the West End as Grizabella in Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking musical Cats, earlier this month.
Remarking on a whirlwind year, the star tweeted: "Chilling at home reflecting on the most remarkable year I have had. So grateful. Our final @CatsMusical show was simply stellar."
Knight has previously starred in Memphis the Musical at London's Shaftesbury Theatre.
