Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp to host talk in Bilston
Spandau Ballet bass guitarist and EastEnders actor Martin Kemp is to appear in an 'audience with' style show in the Black Country.
The 54-year-old musician, actor and author will be at the Robin 2 in Bilston on July 13.
Advance tickets have gone on sale for £20 for the two-hour all-seated show which starts at 8.30pm.
He will be talking about his careers which started at the age of six at the Anna Scher Children's Theatre. By the age of 10 he was appearing regularly on television in programmes including Rumpole Of The Bailey, Dixon Of Dock Green and Jackanory.
In 1979 he formed the new romantic band Spandau Ballet which went on to tour the world and had a number of Top 20 hits in the 80 including True and Gold.
By the late 80s Martin had married Shirlie, one of the backing singers from Wham, and had started a family. He was then asked to star alongside his brother Gary in the film The Krays.
In 1998 he was offered the role of Steve Owen in EastEnders, a role he played until March 2002.
Martin has directed two feature films Stalker a horror/thriller and Top Dog.
His book 'True – An Autobiography of Martin Kemp' was published in 2000.
