Film score maestro Hans Zimmer to play Birmingham show

He's the master behind iconic movie soundtracks including Gladiator and The Dark Knight.

And now Oscar-winning film composer, Hans Zimmer will be bringing his very first tour to Birmingham in one of only two UK shows.

Zimmer's CV is a compendium of top Hollywood films and the German-born musician has composed the iconic soundtracks to blockbusters such as Inception, Interstellar, 12 Years a Slave, The Lion King, Pirates of the Caribbean, Spiderman and the The Thin Red Line.

The Da Vinci Code, Mission Impossible, Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes, Thelma And Louise, Crimson Tide, and Rain Man are also on the impressive list.

His 100 film scores have made over $24 billion at the box office and during the tour, his 20-piece studio band, with whom he records his award-winning soundtracks, will be appearing alongside Lebo M, best known for his stunning vocals on Zimmer's Oscar-winning score for Disney's The Lion King.

There will also be an orchestra and choir, with over 70 musicians in total on stage.

On the announcement of the tour, Zimmer said: "Performing a tour like this is something that I have always wanted to do, and I am thrilled that the time has finally come.

"I am very excited to get my very talented friends together and give our audiences an experience unlike any concert they have ever been to before."

The composer, who has been described 'One of the 100 Living Geniuses' by The Telegraph, has an Oscar under his belt, two Golden Globes, three Grammys, an American Music Award, and a Tony Award.
