And Dudley boyband EofE are now releasing their debut album – and hoping to emulate the success of superstars One Direction.

Following a 32-date sell out arena tour with pop supergroup McBusted in 2014, and a support slot with The Vamps, EofE are now keen to conquer the charts with the release of their debut rock-pop album.

Tom Harris, Dan Bremner, Luke Bradley, Nicky Waters and new member Reece Luke say the album swiftly came together after touring, and that their sound has now matured.

Strengths

The album, which mixes a rock and pop sound, has already drawn attention from music magazine Kerrang! and Spotify.

Reece, aged 22, said: "We know what our strengths are now and our sound has matured, there's no doubt about it.

"We've been a five-piece for just under a year, and sometimes it takes members a lot of time to gel together to create music, but with us it just came together really quickly.

"We spend every hour of the day together and have got along really well since the start, so there was no debate about the direction we wanted to go in with this sound."

The band say that their numerous hours of practice has allowed them to craft the album into an 11-track example of what they hope to take to Europe and possible arena tours in the future. Tom, aged 18, explained: "We are always planning on bringing different formulas to shows and are always questioning different ideas.

"At the start of next year we may even be taking on some tours in Europe. All we ever wanted to do was write and play, I don't think any of us set out to make money, yet now our hobby has turned into our career.

"We continually want to get better and progress."

Drummer, Nicky, who joined just before the McBusted tour, spoke of how he hoped the next five years would see them bring their own shows to stadiums.

"We would love to just be gigging up and down the country full-time. Selling out venues and arena's across the UK is the ultimate dream.

"We had a taste of that when performing at McBusted – just to get the chance to be on those stages, no matter the audience, was amazing."

EofE, whose name is taken from the James Dean film East of Eden, first formed in 2012 after guitarist Dan and bassist Luke attended the Ellowes Hall School, in Gornal, and had performed in bands there.

They will be next playing in Stourbridge's River Rooms, in Mill Race Lane, on December 3.
