Black Country comedienne Josie Lawrence returning to region

The star, who was named a Freeman of the borough of Sandwell in 2011, will appear at the Festival of the Imagination on Friday.

She will be taking to the stage in a show which will draw on her talent for improvisation made famous in the 1990s TV programme Whose line is it anyway?

Born in Old Hill, 55-year-old Josie started her career at the Barlow Theatre in Oldbury. She has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and played teacher Manda Best in EastEnders.

The Festival of the Imagination is being held to mark the University of Warwick turning 50 and takes place on Friday and Saturday. It takes place at the university's central campus just outside of Coventry city centre.
