Young rock band to play Jon Brookes tribute gig

An up-and-coming band performed a warm up gig just days before they are due appear on stage at a tribute charity concert dedicated to the late Charlatans drummer Jon Brookes.

Five-piece group Idle are on the bill for the fundraiser at Darlaston All Active this Saturday.

And their manager today said they could be supporting Paul Weller when he performs at Cannock Chase in June.

Idle performed at Woody's Music Bar in Hednesford on Saturday night.

Adam Paget, the band's manager from Mojo Productions, said: "I have not been as excited about a band as I am about these guys for a very long time.

"The warm up gig at Woody's went fantastic."
