The Giffard Arms, Wolverhampton

The Giffard pub is a real Midlands institution, revelling what it calls its 'third dimension / twilight zone reputation'. There are resident DJs in the main bar and the Dark Room on Fridays and Saturdays.

Lucy's Bar, Hednesford

A 300-capacity rock club and bar which is open Wednesday to Saturday 7pm–late. A real mixture of original and tribute bands with bike night and rock night every Wednesday.

Blast Off Clubnight, Wolverhampton

The best in indie and alternative rock at the Civic most Saturday nights. It even has its own loyalty card! Expect to hear the likes of The Vaccines, Kasabian, Muse, Pendulum, RATM, Foo Fighters, The Joy Formidable and The Strokes.

Eddie's Rock Club, Birmingham

With live gigs and club nights across two rooms on Fridays and three rooms on a Saturday, expect to hear the most popular rock and alternative anthems at Eddie's, spanning countless genres and decades.

Rock Zombie, Dudley

Dudley's newest rock and metal bar, opened in March 2013. Club nights run from Thursday to Sunday, 8pm-3am. On Thursday nights it's Zombied student night, Fridays feature live bands and on Saturdays it's rock and metal with house DJ Col and guest DJs once a month. Sundays is 'Hair of the Dog', with varied entertainment.

The River Rooms, Stourbridge

With the motto 'These are the good times', Stourbridge's River Rooms doesn't just feature rock music but there are plenty of original rock bands and top covers bands on its calendar, "plus the occasional legend". The venue is based in a converted factory unit, adjacent to the River Stour right by the town centre.

The Flapper, Birmingham

The Flapper canalside pub is one of the leading independent live music venues in Birmingham city centre, with gigs by plenty of original bands. There's a regular general knowledge quiz every Thursday and an acoustic session every Sunday evening.

Scruffy Murphy's, Birmingham

Scruffys Murphy's has been in existence since Feburary 2001, born from the ashes of the Pen and Wig and proudly flying the flag for the combination of beer and heavy metal. Go to catch a band and you might find yourself standing in the audience next to members of Naplam Death, Benediction or GBH.
