The pair, who fought to become last year's Strictly Come Dancing winner, are teaming up. Vincent and Flavia have appeared on the show since 2006 and 2012 was the first year that the dance partners had appeared in the final against each other.

Dancing in the dark – Flavia and Vincent

Flavia and Olympian Louis Smith won the hearts of the nation while Vincent wowed audiences with his routines with actress Dani Harmar.

Flavia said: "It was great to win. Both Vincent and I were encouraging one another, but I was delighted to win. Working with Louise was great.

"The biggest thing was his gymnastic background. I knew that he was going to be strong and do lifts, which you can't always bank on.

"There were a lot of good people in the show and some really improved a lot.

"It wasn't an easy win, or journey. We had as many lows as highs. But Louis was incredibly talented.

"The skills in his gymnastics were incredible.

"The show dance was a bit of a risk and I wanted to incorporate his skills because that was the last time people would see him do his thing."

Midnight Tango is set in a late-night bar in downtown Buenos Aires.

Vincent and Flavia are joined on stage by some of the finest tango dancers in the world, and, between them, they take the audience on a journey into the heart of this intoxicating city, as danger and excitement, joy and jealousy, pain and passion combine into a spectacular and explosive evening.

Vincent said: "The show is amazing. It's been getting more and more popular in recent years.

"Flavia and I were the first couple to perform tango live on TV. It's one of the dances that most people fall in love with. We travel a lot and it makes us happy that we promote this beautiful dance.

"We can push ourselves more than on Strictly. Dancing with celebrities, most of them are really talented and we have fun, but they are not true dancers.

"So when we dance together, we get the chance to do our own thing.

"That doesn't mean we don't love Strictly – we do.

"We think it's incredible. We meet loads of people and we go to the stage door and the compliments come every day.

"It is a show where a lot of people laugh and cry.

"Everybody is different. There are great dancers.

"It would be very boring if everybody was good, or bad. It's the nature of the show to have those differences."
