Emmy award-winning British composer George Fenton conducts the Philharmonia Orchestra and special guest soloist Haley Glennie-Smith in the unique show.

Touring the UK for the first time, the stunning performance of music and filmic imagery, combines emotional and evocative live orchestral music with spectacular reworked high definition imagery from the groundbreaking BBC television series Planet Earth.

Acknowledged as the UK's foremost musical pioneer, with an extraordinary recording legacy, the Philharmonia Orchestra leads the field for its quality of playing and for its innovative approach to audience development, residencies, music education and the use of new technologies.

These include digital installations such as the multi-award-winning RE-RITE, webcasts, podcasts, downloads and computer games – in reaching a global audience.

Together with its relationships with the world's most sought-after artists, most importantly its principal conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen, the Philharmonia is at the heart of British musical life.

Composer Fenton said in an interview: "I've never been into natural history. I don't know if I'm even a nature lover, but I know quite a lot about it now.

"It's been a wonderful period of my life.

"To see Planet Earth in the concert hall is a completely different experience from any other way of seeing this footage.

"With an 80 piece orchestra and huge screen, it becomes an immersive experience, something to share and celebrate. For the musicians and myself Planet Earth is always a special night."

The concert is on Thursday and Friday, starting at 7.30pm on both evenings.

Tickets are priced between £15 and £55.
