Midlands bands have been competing in a series of showcase gigs since June and the grand final will now be held at the venue on Monday, December 5, judged by a panel of music biz celebrities including Jim Lea from Slade.

The three finalists are Walsall indie rockers The Formula, indie/acoustic band The State Of Things, also from Walsall, and The Limelight, a rock/indie band from Wednesfield.

They will be completing for a prize package that includes £1,000 in cash, two songs professionally recorded and produced at M2 Studios, a professional photo shoot and a trophy that the winner will keep for a year.

A spokesman for the Robin 2 said: "We are fast approaching the Grand Final of our competition and we have had some great bands participate. It's been a real treat to experience some of the awesome talent that all the bands have brought to the competition.

"Come along and lets make it a great Grand Final, make your vote count!"

Tickets for the final are £5 in advance and £6 on the door.
