The UK's largest model railway show is returning to the NEC in Birmingham next month.

The 44th annual Warley National Model Railway Exhibition returns to the NEC on November 19 and 20, bringing the sights and smells of the railway era to Birmingham. Sure to spark the memories of many dads and granddads, the event is also a great way of introducing younger generations to the delights of model railways.

Tickets are on sale now, with one-day tickets starting at £10 for adults and £6.50 for children and two-day tickets from £18 per adult and £11 for children (all plus booking and transaction fees). Family tickets are £30 for two adults and three children.

The event will give enthusiasts young and old the chance to see fully functioning model railways in action. Across the two days visitors can see more than 85 working layouts, from the UK and abroad, and representing model railway prototypes from the 1800s to present day.

The show also aims to give children the chance to "have a go" with the Junior Modellers Workshop and the Junior Modellers corner of the exhibition, which will include a number of layouts built with younger fans in mind.

There will be more than 150 traders in the modellers' marketplace and experts on hand to give demonstrations of all aspects of model railway construction.

Now in its 19th year at the NEC, the event will feature exhibits as varied as Pete Waterman's 'Building Leamington Spa' DVD presentation to a real, full size steam locomotive.

The show is open to the public from 9.30am-6pm on Saturday, November 19, and 9.30am-5pm on Sunday, November 20. To book tickets, visit The Ticket Factory at www.theticketfactory.com or call 0844 581 0737.
