A retrospective show by a Staffordshire artist has started at the Museum of Cannock Chase.

Eccleshall artist Rose Jones works in a variety of styles using acrylics and "mixed media" to create atmospheric artworks, inspired by places she has recently visited.

The collection of work, on show at the Hednesford museum, is based on her travels to four countries, linked by her common subject themes of water, skies and trees.

Her most recent work is similar in style to an old childhood story book. She said: "This collection of artwork reflects the diverse nature of what interests, intrigues and moves me."

The exhibition follows the different stages of Rose's career in art and reflecting her changing interests over the years.

This is Rose's first solo gallery exhibition at the museum. Her work has been featured earlier this year as part of a museum coffee shop exhibition by the WEA Art Group, at Lea Hall, Rugeley.
