The Inbetweeners Movie marks the silver screen debut of bumbling adolescents Will, Jay, Neil and Simon as they embark on a lads holiday to Crete.

The film opened at cinemas across the UK yesterday on Wednesday including Cineworld at the Bentley Bridge retail park in Wednesfield, Wolverhampton.

And it has struck chord with students and school pupils who have hailed it every bit as good as the Channel 4 TV series that inspired it.

Josh Smith, aged 15, from Bushbury went to see it with six friends from the same area on the opening day on Wednesday and they all gave it a rave review.

Josh, who goes to Codsall High School, said: "It's definitely as good as the TV series, if not better. It makes you want to go abroad like them and most of it is really funny.

"It's just really realistic. It's teenager's lives and it shows things you really get up to," he added.

Friends Luke Johnson and Tom Meredith, from Thomas Telford High School, also gave it the thumbs up.

Luke, 15, said: "It was really funny and I really liked the ending. I'd definitely recommend people go to watch it."

Tom, also 15, added: "It's a very accurate representation of what it is like to be a teenage boy, drinking and chasing girls."

Several groups arriving for the 3pm showing had to buy tickets for the later screening at 5.20pm as the previous screening became virtually sold out.

Parcel company worker Scott Persall, 23, went to see the film with his girlfriend Debbie Gold at 3pm.

He said: "It reminds me of the school days with the lads.

" I've done a few trips with my mates like Blackpool and Newcastle and it brings back memories. It's one of the best things on TV."

Manroy Sahni, 18, from Penn, added: "It's very accurate about being a teenager and the characters are not afraid to say things that you wouldn't expect to hear on TV or at the cinema.

His friend, Aaron Bhangi, also 18, added: "It's just very funny and it shows you the stuff that happens in day to day life.

"My favourite character is Jay because he just an idiot."

Wolverhampton University student Chris Shakespeare, 20, said: "I went out to Aiya Napa a few months ago so when I saw the trailer of them out on holiday drinking, dancing, all that stuff I thought 'that's exactly what we did on holiday.
