DJ Stuart Ojelay's club guide - August 5

So as we dip one toe into August, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for plenty more weeks of the sun shining and some action-packed clubbing frivolity! Here's my pick of this weekend action.

Beau Monde have been throwing some great parties over at Piques in Cannock for a year now and they celebrate their 1st birthday in real style as they bring in jackin' house maestro Sonny Fodera to headline. It's also a zoo theme event so expect plenty of outlandish antics as this one's a dead cert to go off!

Over in Stafford tonight Couture have their second instalment of personal appearances from The Only Way is Essex series. After Joey Essex now comes Mark Wright and I'm sure you'll all have to make the decision to who is most (ultimate cringe that I'm actually saying this!) 'reem' out of the two of them!

There's a continuation of an injection of nightlife in the Shropshire area as Phunk Vibes comes to the upstairs of Pussycats in Telford tonight. Catch DJs Nimrod Randall and Steve O bringing you house and garage grooves.

Wolverhampton looks lively tonight with urban sounds at the Quadrant Lounge with Music Mayhem and Urban Smash at Alchemy. Plus there's Lush at Gorgeous which brings you guest DJ Selbi.

For a mash-up of all things dubstep, electro and house then check out Twisted Funk at the Cellar Door in Digbeth tonight. DJs include Scott Roberts, Call Me T and The Digital Monkey.

Into Saturday and the masses continue to flock to The Bell in Stourbridge. They continue to evolve with improvements to the upstairs ballroom and this week they have drafted in G.L.A.S head honcho Will Power on the decks.

The biggest event in the Midlands this weekend is without a doubt the Face & Cream Classics Birmingham Street Carnival based around The Rainbow Complex in Digbeth. Across three areas, over 2,000 people will sample the delights of everything from club classics and deep house to techno. DJs include heavyweights in the industry Derrick Carter, Jamie Jones, Allister Whitehead and Brandon Block.

I'm looking forward to a local-ish weekend of fun and games as tonight I take to the decks at Fuel, Kings Head, Birmingham. It's been a while since I've played here so look forward to firing out the funky disco house to the always-awesome crowd that Fuel serves up.

Then on Saturday I'm again on Hed Kandi duty but no planes or trains involved this week. I've just a short trip up the motorway to Gatecrasher Nottingham for a hedonistic glam fest featuring gorgeous dancers and bespoke décor.
