It's Friday afternoon. What's on your mind?

Usually I'd be preparing for a gig or a concert but this weekend is free so I won't know what to do with myself.

Who normally has the pleasure of your company at the weekend?

Friends, family and sporting team-mates.

How do you prepare for a big night out?

I don't tend to prepare for a night out, just shower, throw the clothes on and get out of the house.

What's your favourite party outfit?

It's easy being a man, as a decent shirt and a pair of jeans are suitable for most occasions.

You've just arrived at the bar. What's your first drink?

A pint of pretentious, over-priced European lager.

What is your favourite nightspot and why?

My preferred night spot would be an old-school pub with a pool table and dart board and the company of friends . . . I think I'm getting old before my time.

What tune always gets you on the dance floor?

The Macarena – definite dance floor filler.

It's a sunny Saturday. What are you up to?

As I'm a keen cyclist I'd probably spend a few hours cycling around the South Wales countryside. Followed by a BBQ in the waning evening sun.

What's your most memorable weekend ever and why?

The weekend of the 2010 Ryder Cup at the Celtic Manor has to be my most memorable weekend. Singing in front of a packed Millennium Stadium followed by the internationally transmitted opening ceremony and a weekend of golf and hospitality treatment.

What's the recipe for a perfect night in?

Good company, home-cooked food and some decent TV.

Favourite DVD? And what would you eat while watching it?

I'm a huge fan of House starring Hugh Laurie, so sitting down with a bag of peanut M&Ms and a few episodes would be the way to go.

Sunday breakfast – cooked or continental?

Continental. I'm a bit of a fruit fiend.

Sundy lunch – home-cooked or down the pub?

Home-cooked. Nobody does it better than my mum.

Where and how do you like to relax?

In this respect I don't relax in the conventional way – the way I relax is by heading to the gym or getting out and spending some time on the bike.

You've got a whole weekend off and a wad of money in your back pocket – which country or city would you head to?

Without hesitation I'd head to Tuscany to sample the food, wine and culture – not to mention the sun!
