I've even added some inside gossip on some forthcoming events in Wolverhampton this week – plus I've got plus a great tune recommendation for you.

Kicking things off with Oceana in Wolverhampton as they're stepping up their promo for a Friday night as they introduce Funkin Fridays.

Entry is only £2 before 11pm, there's an abundance of drinks below £2 and two rooms of music with an eclectic soundtrack from commercial dance to disco.

If you're in Birmingham tonight and fancy some big beat and electro action then Fidget Friday at the Rainbow Garden is for you. They have a Shades Rave theme and so don't forget them if you head over!

Headlining DJs include Jackinori and Rightoff with residents De Contrebande and Neil Ormonde.

Then for some funk, disco and great house music in the second city check out Fuel at the Kings Head on the Hagley Road. They take over the loft on a weekly basis and generally throw down an awesome party!

Providing the beats this week are Ade Chad, Jay Kay, Paul Carty and Danny Kane.

The Swan in Stourbridge is seven years old this weekend and they'll be celebrating by hosting a garden party with live music and BBQ. Then the DJs will keep the masses entertained till the early hours in the upstairs room.

Something new for Shropshire on a Saturday night is Element at Eden Lounge in Shrewsbury.

They're looking to provide something different and unique to the area with resident and special guest DJs playing across the spectrum of house, old school garage and bassline. On deck duty this Saturday are Mrs Jones, Mr Pickle and Little Ritchie.

You can catch me local this week! On Saturday I'll be at Maison Bar in Coventry for Decadance. It's always a cracking party with a fine quality house soundtrack. Joining me on the decks will be Jen Kaye, Graeme Clark and Ant Butler.

Then it's straight to If, Bushwackers, Birmingham for some main room antics where looking to tear it up till the early hours with me will be James Hardy, Dave Thatcher and Ritchy Edmundz.

As promised a little bit of gossip for you and some things to keep your eye out for! The Crown on the Wergs Road, Tettenhall, are hosting a very ultra glam Champagne & Cocktail Terrace party on Saturday, July 30, where they've secured the license for an outside sound system, extra bar and hog roast dining. I'm sure you know I'm all for trying to inject some positivity into the city of Wolverhampton and having just had a sneak preview of the former Canal Club the brand new owners are trying to do exactly that.

They're investing fast amounts to awake this sleeping giant into a plush bar/nightclub that the whole city can be proud of.

As soon as I know more you'll read it here!

I'm a sucker for a bit of disco especially when it has such a great modern take as this.

Be sure to lend your ears to Roger Seventy Two and Take Me Higher – it's already part of my soundtrack to the summer of 2011! Have a great weekend guys – see you on the other side!
